Sweden And Poland Forge The Baltic Shield.
Defense analysts are today highlighting a historic shift in Baltic Sea security as Sweden and Poland move to institutionalize a maritime alliance. On the heels of a royal and defense-industrial visit to Poland, the Swedish submarine HMS Uppland docked in Gdynia. This follows Poland's selection of Sweden's Saab as the provider for its Orka submarine program. Polish President Karol Nawrocki has formally invited Sweden to join the Bucharest Nine (B9). If Sweden accepts, it would expand the Eastern Flank’s regional bloc to include the Nordic frontier, creating a unified axis of deterrence. A record-breaking delegation of 65 private Swedish companies accompanied the King to Poland to build localized, robust supply chains, reducing dependence on long-distance logistics for defense materiel.
