Nuri Rocket Prepares for Private-Led Fifth Launch.

Building on the success of the fourth Nuri (KSLV-II) rocket mission in late 2025, the Korea Aerospace Administration (KASA) and Hanwha Aerospace are finalizing preparations for the fifth launch, scheduled for the third quarter of 2026. On March 9, 2026, officials selected 15 types of domestically produced components including radiation-tolerant storage from SK hynix and satellite parts from LG Electronics to be verified in-orbit during future missions. The program is shifting from government-led research to a private-sector-driven launch system. The goal is to reach a 90% success rate across ten launches to establish South Korea as a competitive player in the global commercial launch market. The data gathered from the 2026 and 2027 Nuri flights will serve as the technical foundation for the Next-Generation Launch Vehicle, which aims to send a lunar lander to the moon by 2032.
