Government Orders Free Communication Services.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ordered telecommunications companies to provide free communication services for overseas Filipino workers and their families during an international crisis affecting parts of the Middle East. The measure allows affected workers to contact relatives more easily while authorities monitor the situation abroad. Officials said the policy was intended to reduce anxiety among families and help workers stay informed about safety conditions. Government agencies are also coordinating with diplomatic offices and labor departments to ensure that Filipino workers overseas receive assistance if needed.
