Japan Sweeps The Ice In Milan.

Japanese figure skaters dominated the world stage today during the women’s short program at the 2026 Winter Olympics. 17-year-old Ami Nakai delivered a breathtaking performance, landing a soaring triple axel to earn a career-best score of 78.71. She is currently in the gold-medal position, narrowly leading her teammate and three-time world champion Kaori Sakamoto (77.23). With fellow Japanese skater Mone Chiba also in the top four, Japan is on the verge of a historic podium sweep heading into Thursday's free skate.
