Industry Minister Heads to U.S.
Japanese Industry Minister Ryosei Akazawa announced today that he will begin a four-day visit to Washington, D.C. starting Wednesday. The trip is aimed at finalizing the first projects under Japan's massive $550 billion investment pledge to the United States. This deal was brokered to secure reductions in U.S. reciprocal and automobile tariffs. Candidate projects include a $40 billion power plant for data centers and a $2 billion deepwater port for crude oil exports.
