Solar, Wind, And Hydro Mix.
Greece is on the verge of becoming a European green energy leader, with projections showing it will hit its solar energy targets. For the first time, renewable sources are consistently providing over 50% of the national electricity mix, with solar power officially surpassing lignite as a primary energy pillar. A major milestone is the completion of the second interconnection line for Crete, which will fully integrate the island's energy grid with the mainland, significantly reducing reliance on diesel generators. Bolstered by the EU’s Recovery and Resilience Fund, Greece has transitioned from a heavy energy importer to a strategic net power exporter within the European grid.
