Senegal Appeals Unjust Stripping of Africa Cup Title.
The Senegalese Football Federation has officially pledged to appeal a decision by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to strip the national team of its Africa Cup of Nations title. The controversy stems from a chaotic final against host Morocco in January, which Senegal won 1-0 in extra time. CAF recently ruled that Senegal forfeited the match by walking off the field during a period of disorder, retroactively awarding Morocco a 3-0 default victory. The Senegalese government has called the decision illegal and deeply unjust, vowing to pursue all legal avenues including an international investigation into suspected corruption to reclaim the trophy.
