Million Affected by Extreme Weather.
A devastating update from Mozambique reveals that more than one million people have been impacted by extreme weather events since the start of the 2025–2026 rainy season. The passage of Tropical Cyclone Gezani and subsequent flooding have resulted in nearly 300 deaths and massive infrastructure damage, including the destruction of over 30,000 homes and hundreds of schools. This crisis has highlighted the country's extreme vulnerability to climate change, with authorities currently managing dozens of accommodation centers for those displaced by the rising waters.
